THIS IS ME
After graduating with a First Class Bachelor of Arts Degree with honours in Musical Theatre, I was lucky enough to gain contracts all over Europe singing and dancing every night to amazing audiences. After years professionally performing, I headed home, to Shropshire, to look for a new chapter. I landed a job in the children's entertainment world which I loved and didn't sing for a while.
When I started singing again, I struggled to be able to sing like I used to. This can happen through lack of practise. I wondered if my sound would ever return and I had to find my voice all over again. This is when my interest began in vocal training.
I worked with a number of community theatre groups who ignited my passion for teaching to all ages.
I have spent the last seven years running a fantastic theatre school who encouraged all pupils to reach their full potential. I also helped an amazing team to reach their goals through training, examinations and experience. All while teaching in a number of highly regarded schools and colleges, offering singing lessons, performing arts workshops, and concerts.
I am so excited to be able to continue vocal coaching and I am currently training in speech therapy to open up a whole new world.
At RJ Vocal Coaching, I offer online lessons to children over 12 and adults. I will also be teaching face2face in person in a number of venues in Shrewsbury and Telford. With each student, I will offer my skills and expertise for you to find YOUR voice and reach your full potential as a singer. I will prepare a tailored plan to exercise your vocals, teach you about how your voice works, and help build a repertoire that is suited to you. Depending on your goals, I will also create performance opportunities, help with auditions for drama schools or contracts and help you gain qualifications with accredited exam board, LCM.
